O Christmas Tree

As per usual when December hits, we get all Christmassy and set up a tree.

When we lived in Canada many moons ago, we'd gear up in our big thick coats... hats, boots, etc... swing an axe over our shoulders and march ourselves into the snowy forest and chop down a big old beautiful pine, while the stars shone brightly down upon us.

Or something like that.

It's how I like to picture it in my mind anyway.

You can't do such stuff in Australia.

Australia and Canada are kinda different, I've noticed over the years.

In Australia, we were so horrified by the "real" Christmas trees, we were left with no choice but to buy a fake tree. It may or may not kill a little of Wes' soul every year when we set up the tree. He can't even bring himself to do it anymore, so he puts his four Australian children to work instead, and they, who don't know any better, do it happily and jollily.

Turns out that's a real word.

Jollily.

Here's some video of the happy little helpers...

(I bet you are dying to know if we did)

(We did) And here is the fruit of our labours...

Not naming names or anything (WES), but someone decided to drape
our tree in outdoor lights (gasp) which is a little hard on the eyes, but
despite this, I think it looks decent enough. Although, I think it just
needs a little something more....

There! Now it's looking good....

Merry Christmas!
