I wear my sunglasses at night

The other day I packed up my kids and headed out to the library, but somehow, unbeknownst to me, ended up at Target buying sunglasses of all things for my spoil--- uh, I mean overly loved children. How they managed it, I'll never know... maybe they've been practicing their hypnosis skills behind my back.

The nerve!

Lena was so extremely pleased with her glasses that she decided she must now wear them every second of every day for the rest of her life.

Of course I can't blame her for wanting to wear them while we were out at the park. "Mommy," she said, "I need to wear my glasses to the park, because it's a very sunny day after all, and I must protect my pretty little eyes from those horridly harmful rays emanating from the sun." How could I possibly argue with such logic! Not to mention the fact that I was highly impressed by her extensive vocabulary.

But I'd really like to hear her explanation for needing to wear them while eating this very nutritious breakfast.

And this!... maybe she thinks they'll help her see her show better? Possibly...

And here we go again... now while running laps around the toy room! Explain yourself Lena!

I think she's finally feeling a little ashamed of herself... "No pictures please!"

I'd just like to take a moment now to remind you that this was not the only child who tricked me into buying them sunglasses... if you care to see pictures of the boys, you'll have to head on over to Reid's blog, as he was very insistent that he should post some sunglasses pictures as well.

But I couldn't let this whole post go by without some pictures of my boys... so here you go...

My kids, like so many of their kind, are rather relentless when it comes to pestering their parents for a pet. Some days they want a lizard, some days a snake. Sometimes it's just a fish or a bird, and of course every once and awhile comes the plea for a dog.

Well, one afternoon Jarom came running into the house to tell me we didn't need to get them a pet anymore because they had found one all on their own! And wasn't that just the greatest thing EVER?!

What was this pet, you wonder? Well, as you can imagine I wondered the same thing. And here's a picture of this wondrous pet...

What was that? You can't see it very well? Okay then...

There it is... that little black line on the brick. It's an ant. Their pet ant. I'm guessing this is his island retreat?

Something about the whole thing makes me feel a little guilty and a little bit sorry for them.

Ahh... probably just indigestion.
