shove over emerson

Today in school Jarom and I entered the incredibly exciting world of poetry, even though we both love poetry about as much as we like a kick in the pants.

BUT, as you are all probably aware, poetry must be a part of school, otherwise our children will grow up to be heartless, cruel, emotionless people incapable of expressing a single thought.

You know, minor stuff like that.

After making our way through a plethora of poems, I said to Jarom in my sweetest most angelic voice...

"Now, Jarom dear... it's your turn to write a poem! Won't that be just super???"

Jarom was fooled by a moment by my loving demeanor, but then his brain registered what I had said, and then the whining began. And pretty much didn't stop until his poem was written.

It's so great to see your kids enjoying their schoolwork like that. Very rewarding.

Despite his inadvertence to poetry, he wrote the cutest poem, and of course, it had to be shared on this blog.

I told him he could write about anything he wanted. Anything at all... anything is this great big universe that he wanted... absolutely anything.

And he chose hair.

Here it is...

I like it.

Especially the pancake part. So inspiring.
