goo goo

Don't be deceived by the title of this post... we are not going to be discussing the beauty and eloquence of Lena's language... we're going to be talking about neato cool gicky yucky goo... the kind little boys love to play with. Well, two out of my three boys anyway. Reid brought home a science book from the library with all kinds of messy experiments you can do in your very own kitchen... what luck, hey? And, of course I took some pictures to share...

The goo... it's slimy and runny when you hold it in your hands... but hard as a rock when it's just sitting in the bowl. Cool stuff. If you get a bunch in your hand and squeeze, it'll turn into a hard ball, but as soon as you relax your fingers, it'll be ruuny again.

Conner..."no, mommy... don't want goo... don't want to play goo!"

Reid really got into it, Jarom was a little concerned and cautious at first, and Conner eventually went nuts and got a little on the tip of his finger. Whoa, man... take it easy!

It looks pretty messy, but isn't so bad, it cleans up really easy, and it's super easy to make. For those of you who care...

Get about 1/2 cup of cornstarch (cornflour if you speak Australian), then add your food colouring, then add 1/4 cup of water... then mix, and your ready to get gooey! If you want more or less, the idea is, just add half the amount of water to however much cornstarch you use. Make sense? Clear as mud? Good! Have fun.
