So Lena decided it would be nice idea if we celebrated her birthday this past Monday... and we made no objections, since it was actually her birthday. (How did she know?)

Introducing... the cake.

I really love the expression on her face here... she's giving her brother Conner
 the 'don't you even think about going near my presents' look.

I handed the camera over to my husband at this point,
and asked him sweetly to please take the pictures of her opening the gifts,
 so I could take some video... which he happily agreed to.

And I think he did a really great job... I mean, you can hardly notice his shadow at all!

So happy! Although I wonder if she would have been so,
 if she was aware of the gigantic hand heading towards her cake.
