So, as most of you know... and probably more of you didn't... Saturday was Jarom's 5th birthday. Exciting times for us all... especially Wes and I, because it allows us to say things to him now like, you're five and a big boy now, you can't act like this or do that... and on and on... and he's sees how right we are, because it's true... five is so much bigger than four :)
Anyways... here's a ridiculous amount of pictures for you...
Biggest present always gets opened first, of course.
You have to understand what a great present this is for him... he is always saying how he wants to be a fire engine when he grows up. Yeah, that's right... fire engine. Of course, we as his parents and translators know that he really means a fire fighter.
Now he's all ready to go and rescue some kitties!
The loot... way to go Jarom... way to go.

The spider cake... those are fangs sticking out of the smile... in case your wondering.

Wes did the unthinkable and put one of those sparkler candles on
Jarom's cake... not the greatest thing to do to a child who tends to be scared of pretty much everything. He hopped off his chair the minute it started shooting sparks, and wouldn't get back on until he was sure it wouldn't cause anymore trouble.

No girlfriends... maybe next year.

Lena slept through all the present opening, but woke herself up for cake. Yeah, that is Lena there with Wes... you probably didn't recognize her because she has lost all her hair. Not very responsible of her, I know... I guess she just takes after her father... he's always losing things... his keys, his wallet... his mind...

Yum... cake... (by the way, don't look directly into Conner's eyes here... or you may fall under his hypnotic gaze... and then you will start to feel
veeerrry sleeeeeepyyyy....)

Lena's first taste of cake... I know, I know she made a total mess of herself, but that's only because she hasn't figured out how to use a fork yet... she's only a baby, for crying out loud, what else did you expect??? (Okay, fine we did NOT really let her have cake... we only allowed her a little ice cream... she's trying to watch her weight after all).
