The big 0 - 8

Yes, I know it has been awhile since I shared anything on this blog.

But, you know how it goes... I had really important stuff to do.

Like watching every single episode of "Switched at Birth" on Netflix.

I am an expert at prioritising.

Anyway! My third born child had his eighth birthday (kind of a long time ago now), so I figured I should document it before my brain has completely forgotten everything.

Because the daddy of the house had to hi-ho himself off to work before the sun was up, we did presents
super DUPER early. No one minded though. Except me. And Reid. Probably Jarom and Lena too.
But Conner was pretty fine with it.
I think.

He's not yawning. He's excited.
I think...?

Yeah, definitely excited.

He can eat all those candies without a worry, because his dentist also happens to be his father.
Free fillings anyone...?

Considering he has been asking for this Lego set for the past fifty million years, you would think
his face would look a little more pleased...

SCORE!

After we recovered from our early start, and Conner had got to know his new stuff, we took
ourselves off to Conner's favourite place to eat.

McDonald's. He is very original in his ideas.
And his eyes are very squinty. But only when it's bright.

The usual results when I try to get everyone's attention for a picture.
Only one kid actually looking at me, and not even with the benefit of a smile.
(Is it just me or is Reid looking very much like a wax figure in this shot? Creepy...)

After our gourmet meal, we went out to see Despicable Me 2.
Kids loved it... I may have fallen asleep. I have seen too many kid movies in my lifetime.
After awhile, they all seem the same...

Conner's popcorn five minutes before the movie even started. Luckily everyone
was feeling generous and loaded his box up with some of their own.

Blast from the past. Conner had this kind of cake when he was just
a cutie patootie two year old, and requested it for his birthday this year as well.
I think he wanted it just for the sake of guaranteeing himself some brand new toy cars.

Later on in the week, for his actual birthday party, Conner decided to take some friends to the movies. He absolutely insisted on including his church teacher in the party, because (in his words), "she is the greatest teacher a kid could ever have!"

Awww... he's a sweet kid... and he's all MINE!!! (Although sometimes I share him with Wes)

Most importantly, turning the big old eight meant that he could now be baptised.
Which he was. With the help of his father.

And again, in his words:
"This is the most important thing that has happened to me in my ENTIRE life!"
(He tends to be very dramatic with his feelings)

Good on ya mate!

;)
