You may remember me mentioning the whole ordeal of our house being ROBBED and Reid's photos lost amongst them...
(Refresh HERE)
Well there is good news, that I should have mentioned at the time. Wes' phone was not stolen, and he did happen to take some pictures of their trip to Salt Lake too. So it was not a complete loss.
BUT THEN! Reid says to me out of the blue the other day, "Mother dearest, I think my pictures would have been saved on the laptop, because we uploaded them on there when we got back, so we could all look at the pictures together."
And then the fog cleared out of my brain, and I realized he was right.
We have his pictures after all!
We all did a little dance of joy.
(Just like Balki and Larry of course)
So I have spent the last five hundred hours going through their photos and collecting them onto this blog, to be saved forever and ever, where no one can steal them away from us.
Now then! In case you didn't know, my husband and my first born child took off rather unexpectedly to Salt Lake City to attend general conference. A fun little bonding time, and they loved it. They also took a LOT of pictures, and because of recent events, I am going to share the majority of them.
Since these aren't my pictures, but I am the one posting them, you'll just have to bear with me as I muddle my way through explaining them all to you.
I did my best detective work to figure it all out, as you will see.
Like this one. This is my child Reid. He is dipping a fry in a Wendy's frosty.
You would have never been able to figure that out without me, I know.
But, I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's start at what I'm assuming is the beginning of their trip:
Photos of the flight. Courtesy of Reid. He took A LOT of these. I will only share a couple.
(Sorry Reid)
Sometimes I like to build my explanations right into the photo. It's fun.
Hello UTAH! You are kind of brown and drab at the moment. I'm sure that
will change...
They decided to keep themselves awake, and conquer jet-lag by getting off the plane
and going straight to a basketball game. He doesn't look sleepy at all! Good plan...
Getting ready to PLAY BALL! Or something like that.
Ah! Here we go. This looks like Utah.
Now it really looks like Utah. Lots of Mormons milling around a temple.
MORE Mormon people. Who knew there were so many. You don't care about these people though...
Here's a cutie Mormon kid you do care about.
On their way to the conference centre...
(Don't worry... that's Wes. I wouldn't go around putting signs like that on just anyone's back!)
Reid and the conference centre.
I am so good at this.
Reid IN the conference centre. This is getting pretty exciting hey?
Aww... Reid and THE MAN in the conference centre. What a special moment! Excuse me
while I go wipe away a tear or two...
Priesthood session...
Panoramic shot of the conference centre. Check out the guys to the right! Those Mormons are
freaky looking people!
When guys are in charge of picture taking, it goes without saying that you are going
to get random shots like this.
And this. Thank goodness we got a picture of Reid sitting in the car!
Reid loved this apparently. WHAT FLOWERS???
And he loved this. Sticker covering the kid. Hilarious. Especially if you're twelve.
It would seem they really loved taking pictures of statues.
And lucky for them, SLC is jam packed with them!
Statues statues statues...
More random pics. I don't know what this is of exactly, but it looks like a cabin. Made
of logs... so I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest it's a log cabin.
Who lives (lived) here??? No one knows.
Inside the OLD conference centre. Back when Wes and I were young whippersnappers,
and freshly engaged, we attended general conference here. Ah, the memories. Mostly good too...

Wes really really really REALLY loves the look of this building. I know this because he has only
told me fifty GAZILLION times.
Snow. And Reid. Two of my favourite things!
Wes had to get a picture of this for me. I love the Beehive House. Don't
ask me why. I have no idea really. I just do.
All that's missing is his wife. And ten to fifteen more years.
The End!
