Although Halloween is not quite the party here as it is back home, I have to admit they are slowly getting better with each passing year. My kids actually came home with a decent stash of candy! Miracle of miracles.
And it only took a hundred hours of walking around.
There may have been some whining and complaining towards the end of it all... something about sore legs, and "oh I am SOOO thirsty!"...but we told our daddy to buck up already! After all, collecting candies from complete strangers is extremely important!
Before the trick or treating began, we had to gut and carve a pumpkin.
Halloween is weird.
This was my daughter's face when her father told her she had to scoop
out pumpkin guts. "You want me to place my delicate little lady hands
into WHAT???"
Reid, who was not in the least afraid to touch goopy innards, commanded everyone
to move aside so he could get in there and get slimy!
When the guttin' was completed, Wes shoved the kids out of the way so he could get
to the fun part. Cutting and carving. He loves it. Dentists usually do.
Boo.
"I am the very model of a modern major general..." ah, wait. Wrong pirate show...
"This will be the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught
Jack Sparrow!!!" Much better.
The reason behind the overly thrilled expression on Conner's face, is that he did
not appreciate his parents decorating his face with facial hair. We tried to be sympathetic,
but we just couldn't muster it. Free candy is coming man!
Don't mess with me. I know Fun Koo.
Reid wanted to be Hades for Halloween. I wonder what it all means....
Ah... a breath of fresh air. Nothin' evil... nothin' dangerous or dirty or scary.
Just an innocent mass of pink and purple, out to bring sugary sweet happiness to the world.
Holy cow, do they look excited or what??? Trick or treatin' here we come!
Conner finally cheered up, when he met up with his bestest mate in the whole world, and discovered
he was also Jack Sparrow, and he also had his face painted up. Isn't he so cute when he's smiling?
The kiddies and their stash.
This is what I have been hearing every second of every day since Halloween:
"Can I have some of my trick or treat candy?"
"Can I have some of my trick or trick candy?"
"Can I have some of my trick or treat candy?"
"Can I have some of my trick or treat candy?"
We have a little Halloween tradition that goes a little something like this:
Make our own pizzas. Eat candy... eat pizza... all while watching a scary movie late at night.
Then we finish it off with a night full of nightmares.
The end.
