Well it would kinda seem that the only purpose my blog has had this last year, is to supply you with pictures of birthdays, birthdays and more birthdays.
Sorry... it's a hard knock life.
I'll try to do better next year.
(TRY, I said)
So, without further ado... here is yet another birthday post for you!
Here's the birthday boy... so wise and mature and eight.
Opening presents can be a very confusing thing.
And also very joyous.
He was well supplied with Bionicle that day. (And yes I left the price tag on...
what can I say... it's in my blood).
Jarom is a hard kid to shop for... I wandered around toy stores for AGES trying to find presents he would like. I was so stumped. So I waltzed him into the store one day, and told him to just pick something himself for crying out loud. This is the lucky lego box that came home with us.
And here's some video, as usual. Enjoy...
(I'm sorry, I know there were other cards sent, but this one supplied us with the best reaction, so it wins the prize of being read on this video)
Moving on...
The cake is boring, I know... but this is just the "family" cake. He will get a better one when it's the "friends are coming for a party" cake.
The other children you've seen popping up in our birthday pictures this past year are Finch kids.
Otherwise known to my children as "their reason for living."
I love the expressions on Conner and Rex in this one... something is very alarming to them both
(perhaps they are frightened by the possibility of EIGHT girlfriends if Jarom's lungs fail him).
Let's move on to other important events of the day. The big eight can only mean one thing...
BAPTISM!
Here we are just before the big event. The kids are SO excited as you can tell.
I thought for sure they'd seen a camera before at some point in their lives... apparently I was wrong. Smile kids! SMILE!!!
AWWW... Aren't they SO cute!
So... on this very special day of Jarom's, this part of Australia in which we live, decided to be boiling hot, and very very humid. Maybe this affected Wes' brain as he filled the font, because he did not add any hot water at all. What I'm trying to say is, the water was FREEZING. We all felt so sorry for little Jarom who came up gasping after being dunked in the icy cold water.
And two seconds after Jarom came up out of the water, Conner felt it necessary to bang his hands onto the glass divider and shout out: "ARE YOU EIGHT NOW JAROM???"
Everyone was very entertained.
Stay tuned for the next birthday installment...
