a whole lot of random

I have to confess this may be one of those posts that will only be significant to me (and possibly my husband - sometimes we do interest him).  Just some cute observations I've been making of my kids the past little while.

For example...

Lena has this pair of shorts with little rainbows on them. She loves these shorts. But there is a problem...

The little rainbows are on the backside of the shorts. Can you understand the dilemma? If they're on the back, she can't very well SEE them when she's wearing them can she??? So she absolutely positively INSISTS on having the shorts back to front, so she can fully enjoy the beauty of her wardrobe.

Nice.

She has also arrived at that adorable stage where she loves to talk and talk and talk. But because she's only two, and not quite the pro at the whole talking thing, we get a lot of gibberish, mixed up phrases, and stut- stut- stu- stuttering.

My all time favourite though is when the wrong word gets used.

Some examples...? Here you go...

These are her nails. Or as she likes to call them, her "purple tails."

This is her beloved jacket. And when she wears it, she is very insistent that she has the "helmet" on.

Conner is slowly growing out of the stage where he gets his words mixed up. But not entirely, thank goodness, as I did hear him refer to his armpits the other day as "his pots."

Thanks for that Conner.

And since we're on the subject of Conner.... here he is....

He's our cutie. And he loves his trike. Nevermind that he's ten sizes too big for it. He will not give it up for anything. Forget those ridiculous two wheelers! Where's the fun in that? He will be riding this thing until he's fifty. And I've discovered the reason why...

You can't really take a chic out for a ride on your two wheeler as well as you can on a trike!!! He practices with his little sister for now, but he's just waiting for the day he can impress the ladies with this sweet ride when he's sixteen.

Moving on...

The other day I listened in on a brief conversation between Conner and his big brother Jarom. Went a little something like this...

Conner: "Jarom...? Why do people have hair on their heads?"
Jarom: "So their heads don't get sunburned."

You are very wise Jarom. It's to be expected though... you are almost eight.

A couple days after this exchange, I decided to test my little Conner to see if he remembered his brother's intelligent answer. Went a little something like THIS:

Me: "So... Conner. Why do people have hair on the heads???"
Conner: "ummmm.... uhhhh... so they can scratch it if it gets itchy."

No arguing with that.

Now onto my oldest. My Reid.

I felt it was extremely important to record the following talent:

Who knows when a video like this may come in handy? Such talent! I bet his future wife is just going to be full of thanks when she gets a load of this.

And come to think of it... Jarom's wife will also be pretty thrilled when we whip out this little treasure...

(Ahem, sorry... our cameraman for this video was Reid, who inevitably gets the "shakes" when he records anything)

Later.
