boo ya

Since coming to Australia, we haven't really done the whole Halloween thing, due to the fact that Australia does not DO the whole Halloween thing. Sound reasoning, I like to think.

But we have been noticing with each passing year, that they have been growing more interested in the tradition of death and candy... so we thought we'd get brave and go trick or treating this year.

It did not go well... we did a couple of blocks and got about four candies, so we opted to go home and watch a "scary" movie (scooby doo), and pig out on the candy mommy had previously bought from the store, because deep down she knew the trick or treating wouldn't really go well.

Anyways... costumes...

Heatblast... aka: Jarom.

Spiderman... aka: Conner.

The world's cutest bee... aka: the world's cutest bee.

Head on over to Reid's blog to see pictures of him in his cool costume... click here for easy access.

The man of the house got so into the idea of Halloween this year, that he absolutely insisted that I buy a majorly overpriced pumpkin, so he could carve it into some sort of a masterpiece.

Well guess what.

That pumpkin sat on the counter all week long, totally and utterly masterpiece-less.

Do you want to know what $25.00 down the drain looks like? Well... it looks like this:

And although we miss the fun we used to have back home in Canada, where they understand the importance of gathering free candy all night long from complete strangers, we had fun together making pizzas, watching movies, having a sleepover, and eating lots and lots and LOTS of candy. So much candy in fact, that it actually started growing out of the kids faces.

Don't believe me? Well then... what do you make of this:

Uh... Lena... you got a little something on your chin.
