Well, well, well... my oldest kid turned nine on Monday, and since somehow, I am morally obligated to post about it, here's the day at a glance:
First off, it was completely impossible for us not to let him open his presents first thing in the morning. If we hadn't, we may have gone crazy and jumped off a cliff just so we wouldn't have to hear, "can I open my presents can I open my presents can I open my presents," repeated a bazillion times throughout the day. We chose to retain our sanity, and so here he is bright and early in the morning with those presents he has been DREAMING of since the first day of May hit...

After he tore through the presents, he and his brothers had to sort/play/eat all the stash, which took longer than you would imagine. He got two Wii games though. End of story. They could have played ALL DAY. But we took them ice skating, of all things, instead of letting them fry their brains courtesy of Nintendo.
After the ice skating adventure, we returned them home and let them play to their hearts content, while Wes went skipping merrily off to work for a few hours. Then at Reid's request we ate out at the Outback for supper, where he promptly filled himself up drinking raspberry Fantas, and felt too ill to eat his food.
He found his appetite was up for cake when we got home though. (What a relief, I know!)

"I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow you all out!" (That would be a pokeball cake there, for those of you who are confused).

And since I thought it would be so much more fun for you to watch a little bit of the boys skating, instead of staring at boring old pictures, here's some video for you. Your welcome!
(Okay, I admit, it wasn't so much skating as it was 'slipping around on the ice'... but you get the idea).
