At the end of our Family Home Evening this past Monday, Jarom was in charge of choosing the closing song... and it all went down a little something like this:
Jarom looks at me and says, "do you know the song 'Quickly Hollow Bay?'"
Me: "Ummm... no, don't know that one."
Reid: "Oh! That would be a good one for you!"
Me (kinda confused): "why?"
Reid: "it's about mothers."
Me: "okay... will you sing it for me?"
Jarom sings the first line of the song, and it went like this: "when my mother calls me, quickly hollow bay..."
Then Wes and I laugh and laugh and laugh. But only in our hearts of course, because we don't want to hurt his feelings.
Of course if you're aren't LDS you are probably wondering what's so funny. Actually, even if you are LDS you still might not get it, if you never learned that song. It's a popular song that is taught to the little kiddies at church (which apparently the boys have been learning here)... and it's supposed to go like this:
"When my mother calls me, quickly I'll obey."
Ahhh... I wonder if the singing teacher has any idea what goes on in my little Jarom's head.
