It goes like this...
Reid got sick. Then Jarom. Then Lena.
But Conner remained healthy. Hmmm... is he sneaking some echinacea on the side or something?
Then something unexpected happened. Lena got spots on her hands and feet. Ummm... that can't ever be good news.
We took her to the doctor, who told us she had some disease called 'hand, foot, and mouth'... nice name right? Except, she was kinda lacking the sores in her mouth. Which is apparently normal... you can have the illness without the sores in the mouth, or you could have it with only the sores in your mouth and no rash on your hands and feet. Ummm... okay... whatever... may I suggest then, that we change it's name to 'hand, foot OR mouth', because I'm sure that the other way could confuse some simple minded people... namely, me.
Then we're told that it gets transferred through saliva... who on earth has Lena been kissing then, I'd like to know? We're still a little baffled on how she could have got it, because she spends 99.9% of her life on her mother's hip, and the only thing she puts in her mouth is her bottle, and the odd piece of fluff. I have most definitely never seen her put someones saliva in her mouth. Ooooohhhh... it's a mystery.
Ummm... then we realize something unfortunate. Unfortunate for Conner that is. He and Lena shared some fries the night before. And when Lena eats fries, she doesn't 'eat' them, so much as she smashes them in her mouth, covers them in drool, and then spits them out and plays with them. And when I say they 'shared' some fries, what I really mean is, Conner ate one of the fries that Lena smashed and drooled on. Yeah, yeah, I know what your thinking... how could we just stand by and watch it happen. But after four kids, it kinda takes a lot more than that to gross you out.
Anyway! The point of that story, is that Conner woke up the next day with the fever... first sign of the impending disease... we are waiting patiently for the spots to show up now.
Oh, what was that? You want some pictures of the ordeal? Okay then...
Lena's chubby little hands and their spots. Nothing too horrid.

The disease also has the unfortunate side effect of giving your kids scowly faces.

See what I mean?
