After Lena made her appearance they quickly kicked us out of the delivery room, because it was a busy day for them, and they were way understaffed (of course)... so we made our way up to the postnatal ward, where lucky us! ...we got a room that they crammed four beds into. Although there was only one other couple in there... they were such great roomies... it was their first baby, which had been delivered the day before... and they had packed around their little space so many flowers and teddy bears and balloons, I was amazed they had room to sit. But the best part was that they had set up on a shelf their laptop... and guess what they had running on their laptop? A slide show of the birth of their precious little bundle. What joy was ours, as the slide show was probably only five minutes long, but they felt the need to have it repeat over and over and over for hours... and playing in the background of the slide show was some nasty old country song... playing over and over and over... if it wasn't for the fact I was unable to walk, I think I would have run over, grabbed that laptop, and thrown it out the window. (After letting them know of course, that their baby wasn't half as cute as ours).
Ahhh... the memories. Good thing Lena was so cute, and we were so happy to have her. We were so kind and tolerant.
So, we stayed our required 6 hours, and then got out of that hospital, much to the shock and horror of the doctors and nurses... they just couldn't get over the fact that I didn't want to sleep in their uncomfortable bed... with their one nurse taking care of fifty people, and my roommates with their fantastic slide show and their thousands of noisy visitors, and some person coming in every thirty seconds to poke at my baby, and get back to my nice big comfortable home, with my good kind husband to take care of me. Go figure!
Okay now, I think that's enough of my sarcasm for one day... I don't want to make you gag. Here's some pictures for you. (And by the by... we didn't forget Conner at the hospital... it was past his bedtime when we were driving home, and he fell asleep in the car, that's why he's MIA for all the pictures).
