It's been awhile I guess since I posted anything... I keep hoping that my kids or husband will do something newsworthy, but they insist on being boring... so I will try my best to give you as interesting of an update as I can...
So, here we go... Reid went to the dentist for the first time last weekend. Not to see his own father, which may make sense, they won't let him do that, so he had to go and see a nice regular dentist that kindly charged us huge amounts to do the exact same thing Wes could easily have done for free. He had a cavity filled, and he did amazingly well, and returned home from the dentist completely traumatized-free... and with a nice new, cheapo toothbrush that he can't even use... well, I suppose he could, but then he'd get a million new cavities, seeing as the toothbrush is useless... which may explain why dentists give out those toothbrushes... keeps bringing back the business.
Jarom is busy spending his days being bored out of his mind, with a little harassing his younger brother on the side... and wondering when he gets to start school. So I try to keep him occupied with mastering his alphabet, learning his numbers and writing out his name... which he is getting to be a pro at. Except for the minor detail that he always does the "J" in Jarom backwards... but hopefully no one else will notice... and he can count to 20 pretty well... although for some odd reason, he will always leave out the number 10... I don't know what the number ever did to him, but I hope they work out their differences before he starts school next year.
Conner is now the proud owner a real kids bed... no more crib... he had to hand it over for the new baby... but he seems much happier with the big bed. Especially because it means he can now wake up at 5:30 in the morning, and run into his parents room and then jump on their heads. Which we are also just thrilled with. Oh, wait... no we're not. He is also getting much better with his talking, and is slowly getting to the point where he will say things on his own without his parents always pestering him by saying things like, Conner! Can you say this?... or that or the other... and he is very confident in his knowledge too. For example, the other day, he saw a spider on the wall... and he leaned over and starting blowing on it (of course, I mean, what else are you going to do?), and I decided to help him out a bit, and said to him "it's a bug... bug... BUG"... like a good annoying parent, but apparently he disagreed, because he said to me, "no... a whale." Oh, well... what can you do. At least he's talking.
And speaking of whales, that's pretty much what I look like at this point, which is probably why I'm not going to be posting anymore pregnancy pictures... but that shouldn't be too shocking, since I never really post pictures of myself anyway. The baby has now reached that pleasant stage where it thinks it can just punch and kick it's way out of my belly... and it gets stronger and more fierce about it everyday. I suppose it's probably bored out of it's mind in there, and has decided to occupy itself with a little karate practise. So now I'm really looking forward to getting this baby out, where it will no doubt quickly give up it's karate chopping ways, and begin to master the art of screaming, crying, and pooping.
Wes is doing extremely well at school, and is the smartest person in his class... all his teachers love him to death, and he has fifty billion jobs lined up for when he graduates. And to top it all off, he has been invited to a big fancy dinner at the end of September, where all the students with brown noses are going to be honoured for their big brains. Of course, he will deny it all, but you can trust me, I never lie or exaggerate ;)
I guess that's it for us all for now... tune in for the next exciting episode of the Prepchuk's mundane life in Australia... Until then... live long and prosper.
