I bet you thought I was through with all the Canberra stuff.
You are so wrong.
I've got PLENTY more!
My husband found out that you could go watch people make glass stuff.
He really really wanted to see it, so we humoured him.
It was… okay. For the first five minutes. It was slow going, and it seemed like
these guys would spend forever on something, only to trash it and start all over. This was Conner for
the whole time we were there:
"Are we done yet? Is it time to go yet? This is boring, can we go now?" (Times 1000)
We left eventually. And then I dragged everyone off to the War Memorial/Museum... I couldn't help it... I love it.
History is fascinating. My family doesn't entirely agree.
This was Wes for the whole time we were there:
"Are we done yet? Is it time to go yet? This is boring, can we go now?" (Times 1000)
FOR REAL.
Pretty.
We ate first. Don't you love it when people share pictures of themselves and their food?
You just couldn't survive without knowing what other people are eating, am I RIGHT?
In other news, Reid was super fascinated with whatever his brother told him.
Time to climb a tank...
After tank business was done, Lena shouts out:
I wanna go see THAT! It looks like a bunny!!
Guess what? It was a bunny.
Everyone took off after it like it was made of gold or something.
Don't worry… it got away.
Conner! Look impressed, it was planted by Her Majesty!!!
It's a war memorial, so of course… no smiling.
Lena and Conner dropped a coin in. They both made a wish… but Lena would not share what she wished for, because (of course!) then it won't come true. Conner hears this and says, "I don't care about that… I wished for an iPad!!"
The thought of people tossing in coins and making wishes apparently makes Reid
feel somewhat nauseated...
Searching to see if there are any Prepchuks on the list. Not happening… I'm pretty confident
we are the first Prepchuks to ever live in Oz.
Inside the museum was a "kid zone" where kids get a glimpse of living the war life.
This is Lena driving a helicopter. She waited for about ten thousand years
to get a turn, and let me tell you… THAT was fun.
Going in the "submarine." Lena was a little worried… Jarom the sweetest
person on the planet, gave her a comforting hand.
Sleeping in the bunks. And no… they don't normally sleep like that.
Let me give you a little advice. If you ever come across a drawer that says something
like this… just don't open it. You may be curious… but it's really not worth it.
NASTY!!!
You could also dress up and "live" life in the trenches. Serious business.
This picture kind of bothers me. Looks a little too real… excuse me while I go shed a tear (or fifty).
