Well, home to Wes and me. Our youngest two kids have spent 100% of their lives in Australia, and the older two were just tiny little cutie pumpkin pie babies (practically) when we landed here, so what do they know.
We usually watch Canada Day come and go without doing much of anything. We don't have any Canadian friends around to bask in the glory of the day, and we are too lazy to put any effort in for just our lonesome selves... BUT this year we decided to mark the occasion.
How exciting for you!
I mean, us.
So we made some Canada themed cookies.
I heard "It smells like Christmas!" a thousand and one times while these were being made.
And we graffitied our bods with Canada stamps. (Thanks Amy!)
It says (or used to say) "I love Canada," but he had a very intense morning
of playing Nintendo and sweated the stamp off.
(Yes! Gross...)
And we filled our stomachs with tons of red meat.
(That's pretty Canadian of us, right???)
At the restaurant.
In case you couldn't tell.
Conner and his dilemma: I want a big coke!
But tragically, his kid's meal only came with the little coke.
He sulked and sobbed "I want a big coke!" so many times, in the end I gave him mine.
And do you think he even managed to drink HALF of that big coke?
No way.
(Yes, that's my husband texting away in the corner)
Which is so typical of him.
And so typical of Jarom to look thrilled with life...
Thanks to the tons of family members we have back in Canada, we are well stocked with
Canadian themed clothing.
I bet Jarom is really hoping no one notices his fly is WIDE open.
Even though my little Canucks are a massive mix of Canadian and Australian ways, you'll
be happy to know there hasn't been any weird or unfortunate side effects...
Not in the least!
I had to share this video. It's a million years old, I KNOW. And it's technically a beer commercial (although it doesn't really mention it), but it always makes me smile...
Happy Canada Day!!!
