at the park

From time to time we like to drag our kids (kicking and screaming) away from their beloved iPad and Nintendo and make them do, like, outside stuff.

And sometimes I like to drag my camera (kicking and screaming) away from it's cozy dusty shelf, so that I can prove to my kids one day that we did actual stuff with them.

It's a win win kind of a situation.

This particular day we decided to play some soccer at the park.

Well, everyone else went to play soccer. I went to watch everyone play soccer, due to the fact that I do NOT play sports of any kind, due to the fact that if I do I will die. Of embarrassment. Then of boredom.

Before we made the kids do any physical work fun, we loaded them up with Subway. After that we
declared it was time to practice some soccer!

To which they replied, "Whatever! We are going to ride our bikes!"

"And go down the slide!"

Conner, the one child we expected to refuse to play, was the first one to do it. Good on ya mate!
(Sometimes I like to speak a little Australian.... how'd I do?)

After that first picture of my child kicking the soccer ball, I discovered something wonderful...

Taking pictures of people playing soccer is funny.

Sometimes it looked more like there was dancing going on instead of soccer. Can can, can
you do the can can...
What I'm also loving about this photo, is Jarom sulking in the background. Apparently the bike
riding was no going as well as he had hoped.

Aw, doesn't it look like she knows what she's doing?

Sometimes soccer is worth breaking your foot over.

Not photoed throughout the days events was me. As usual. BUT this time you are lucky enough
to see my shoes watching my husband about to kick a ball into my daughter's hiney.

More soccer dancing. Jetés are always helpful when playing soccer. If you're a girl, that is.

Boys should not attempt them, or they'll just look silly.

And swing those arms!

He's so graceful and beautiful when he kicks a ball. Like a beautiful prancing pony.
Hmmm... Lena's always wanted a pony...

After the soccer training was up, the Father of our home announced, "Okay! It's now time for a
family game!!!" To which Conner replied, "A game??? What game? Can we play I Spy?"

I love my kids.

I really like how manly all my boys are when they run. Especially Reid... you go girl!

The teams were Wes/Conner vs. Reid/Jarom (Mommy and Lena gave up five seconds in and opted
instead to be cheerleaders/hecklers)

I bet you can't guess from this picture who won the game.

And in totally unrelated you-couldn't-care-less-news, I have decided to remove the comment section from my blog. It would seem that after fifty years of reading my blog, many of you are commented out. I've decided that you should just be able to show up, read, be entertained/bored out of your mind, and run along your merry way, without feeling the pressure of having to leave me with your inspirational thoughts.  If you really, desperately feel the need to make some sort of comment, just go ahead and leave it on Facebook (to which I link most of my posts).

Thanks for reading!
