Sorry if you thought this was a post announcing the arrival of another child. That post will never happen.
Back to the dog. Half of our family really likes him a lot. The other half... likes him a little. I'll just leave you to wonder where the split lies.
This dog went and had a birthday a little while ago, (May 11th to be exact) and since my children (well, some of them) love this dog a great deal, they really wanted to celebrate his birthday. Since I love my children, I gave into the request.
They asked Wilson what he would like to do on his birthday, to which he replied:
"I would like to go to the park, please." (He's pretty polite for a dog)
So off we went.
This dog really fits into our family well. Five minute walk to the
park and he was WIPED OUT!
Then they asked him would he like to play fetch at the park, to which
he replied: "No thanks, I'd rather you let me off my leash so I can chase
birds." To which we replied, "This is your birthday Wilson,
not your dreams."
Then he had the nerve to ask for some pizza for his birthday... luckily for him we were actually in the
mood for pizza. And since it was his birthday and everything, we let him eat an actual whole slice
of pizza, and not just our pizza scraps. Although, of course, he got those as well.
My kids really REALLY wanted to make Wilson a cake, but when I looked up cake recipes for
dogs and saw how much stinkin' work went into them, I opted for some peanut butter dog cookies
that take thirty seconds instead. I may or may not be one of the people in this family that falls into the
"likes him a little" category.
This is why I like him a little though. That look on his face.
This is the "holy cow, she has some food, and if I'm really really super
duper amazing good, she might feed it to ME!" look.
He's a pretty good dog, I have to admit.
This is where we put his food down and tell him to "leave it..."
"Leave it..."
Oh, he wants it so bad. But he must be obedient. He doesn't
know why, but he must.
"OKAY!"
He loves his peanut butter butterflies.
Happy Birthday Wilson.
