birthday girl

Yep! You guessed it... another birthday post.

Life is measured by birthdays, you know. And lately, so is this blog.

This time we had the joy of celebrating the birth of the youngest member of our family. The girl herself...

Eager as can be to be rippin' into those presents. (Pressies, if you prefer a little
Aussie slang)

A birthday card from Aunty Amy. Aunty Amy always sends fun musical cards, and as
you can see, they are very well received :)

Time for rippin' in.

She loves littlest pet shop. And now she has enough to last a lifetime.

Lena and her loot!

A little tradition this homeschooling family has on birthdays...
First, we skip that whole nasty school work thing.
Then we go play at Lollipops.

(For those who don't know... Lollipops is one of those playland places
where kids can run, jump, slide, climb, go crazy, and catch five thousand
diseases in under five minutes!)

I hadn't planned on taking pictures while we were there, but then decided this was too cute to miss,
and had to make due with the camera on my phone. Turned out pretty good hey?
You can just see past all the blur to make out their cute little faces!

In the afternoon, she had some of her peeps over for some feasting and fun. Aren't they so cute...

Whackin' the piƱata.

In Australia, you've got to be quick collecting the candy,
or else the ants will be out in full force fighting you for it.

Here's the happy, angelic birth--- wait...

HERE'S the happy, angelic birthday girl, ready to blow out some candles.

Blow dem candles!

Once all the party guests were kicked to the curb (uhhh...kerb, if you spell the Australian way) and all
the new toys were sufficiently played with, it was time to head out for the birthday dinner.
And the birthday girl made the always classy choice of.... McDonald's.

Can't get enough of those soggy McDonald's fries!

After dinner we returned home, where we all crashed and burned. Well, I did anyway.

And for those of you who prefer a little live action over still life, here's a birthday video
for your viewing pleasure.

Happy Birthday Lena!
