then again, maybe not

Today while my perfectly angelic little boys were drawing and listening to primary songs before we took off to church... Jarom turns to me and says, "mommy... I changed my mind, I don't want to be a fire engine man anymore when I grow up. I want to be a missionary."

Well, how sweet... right? And then when his father walks into the room, Jarom shares this news with him. So then comes the discussion about what being a missionary is all about. And Jarom just listens oh-so-carefully about how he gets to go for two years to teach people about Jesus, and maybe he'll get to go somewhere far off, and on and on we went.

Hmmm... but it may not have been a great idea to go into detail about how he won't get to see his family for two whole years, because a little while later, we find him in tears. And when we ask what's wrong, he says, "I'm going to miss you when I go on my mission!"

What a sweetie pie.
